Any Jobs That Interact With Hospital Staff Like Doctors And Nurses?

What kind of jobs in a large hospital setting that allow interaction with doctors, nurses, and other staff? I am getting my business degree and want to know if such work exists. Maybe a liaison or a manager (would they hire business managers?)? What courses should I take for me to get an internship, since I have no prior experience? I think it's fun to work with people, not just computers. I don't want to be a doctor, but I like to work in that environment.

There is always a need for business, as in the US health care is a business. However, the needs of health care as a business requires additional knowledge that a standard business program does not prepare you for. Many of the managers in health care venues are either people with health care majors, who get an additional MBA, or business majors who then get a dual Masters in Health Care or Hospital Administration and an MBA or just the Health Care Admin masters alone. Medical billing, coding, insurance issues, as well as ethics and federal requirements are issues which are covered in these programs.

You might enjoy looking into a job as a Technician on a medical unit, such as an Intensive Care Unit. I work at two hospitals which employ people to answer the unit phones, direct visitors, and enter orders into computers, etc., all of which are immensely helpful to the medical staff. It is not a very high paying job, but it is one that is much appreciated when done well. You can be trained on the job, in most cases. It helps to know someone in the medical field who can give you a reference. Good luck!
