   Congrats on your career choice…and I say GO FOR IT!!
   Anywho, I’m currently in nursing school, ADN to be exact. The initial process was pretty intense being that out of the 452 applicants, only 100 were accepted. Now that I am currently taking classes, I see that time management and the use of critical thinking has been my biggest stressors BUT with prayer, encouragement and strong study habits, I have been successful.
   I understand where you are coming from, I made the grades but I had to put in alot of effort but I am very pleased with my progress. I would also suggest talking to one of the advisors of the nursing schools that you are interested in. They can tell you FIRST HAND what they see their nursing students go through and what they’ve done to become successful.
   Anyway, good luck and give it a go besides you don’t want to have one of those, “What if” moments.

   This can vary greatly depending on your area.
   For example- I am a BSN Student at Arizona State. This college goes by GPA and they only accepted 180/360 applicants last semester, and I believe the number was similar the semester before. If you think you can do it, then by all means, go for it.
   The other option in my area is the community college route. Granted you won’t get a Bachelor’s degree but you’ll still be an RN. These colleges go by waiting list which, as of a couple weeks ago, stood at 3 semesters.
   I’ll be applying to both the ASU and community colleges. If I can’t get into ASU, I’ll have a backup, and I can go back for my BSN later.
   Once you get past the pre-reqs, nursing school itself is very time consuming. I recommend you take a look at the following website: nursing.asu.edu/programs/undergraduate/b…
   It will assist you in your decision to attend nursing school. It asks you to evaluate your life to see if this is really what is meant for you.

   i am a student nurse. it does require confidence as you can be thrown in the deep end at times. but the academic side isnt too bad. going to nursing school can be annoying at times, because basically you’re being taught by nurses who hate nursing (why did they become teachers, again?). but they pretend it’s amazing, which it isnt quite ‘amazing’ it isnt awful either.
   its a good job, interesting but there are much easier jobs.

   Hey, I am in a BSN program right now. I will graduate in just over a year. The best advice I can give someone who is thinking about Nursing school is : DON’T DO IT UNLESS YOU ARE IN IT 100%!! It’s tough, demanding, but also exciting and rewarding. If you are not completely motivated to be a nurse, the program might just break you. Just like any major though, there are some courses that are easier than others. If you get good enough grades to get into the nursing program, you’ll probably be able to sustain decent grades to get through. You need to have confidence, and if you don’t- you need to fake having confidence sometimes when it comes to clinicals. It is really scary when the first clinical starts and you have to walk into the patient’s room not really knowing what to do. But now, after doing a few hundred hours of clinical time, it is much easier and the steps become natural. I am sorry if you don’t understand what i am trying to explain right now.
   It never hurts to apply, go ahead and do it! You’ll get a great job probably right out of college. GO FOR IT!!!
