Do I Need A Statistics Course To Get Into Nursing School?

I'm currently taking a statistics course, I have other classes and it's getting a little overwhelming. My main priority is to do really well in my science classes, so I'm thinking of dropping out of the stats. course. I've read in some nursing schools requirements that stats. is a required course, but I'm wondering if any actual nurses even took stats. to get into nursing school.

I’m trying to get into my school’s nursing school and stat is one of our prerequisites. If it’s too overwhelming now, you might want to think of dropping it and focusing on the science classes, then going back to it next semester.

I am in a Nursing program in Florida for my BSN.
It was a requirement that you took statistics before you could even be considered for the program. I also applied to a community college and statistics was also required. And it is great you are wanting to do well in your science classes, but every nursing pre-requistie is important, including statistics etc. They look at your pre-req grades as a whole…
Now, statistics was required for every school I applied to. You need to look at the schools you are wanting to apply to. If statistics is on the pre-requisites, then you MUST take it… else you will not get in.
So to answer your question, yes… nurses have taken statistics to get into nursing school… at least in florida… if none of the applicants had taken statistics, then none would have been accepted.
Stick through the class… it isn’t too bad.
