What will be the incentive for them to practice if they'll no longer be in control of their practice?

No, not the good, well trained, and private doctor’s offices. Most doctors become doctors because they have convinced themselves healing human beings is their honorable hearts desire…then later admitting it is really more exciting to make a fortune in medicine as a private physician to the Overly wealthy elite, with their every cosmetic quirks, plastic surgery’s, and non-serious sniffles, than to heal the bodies of the majority, who are less spoiled, and almost always more needy medically, and seriously ill for 3 or more times less money, and harder work….however, Socialized medicine is reprehensible to consider as a solution, for it is anything but! Socialized medicine is a nightmare of double the pain, less doctor visits, no choice in personal doctor, no one doctor period for family, or individually NO matter one’s condition, no cures, and increases in death because of massive overloaded waiting periods for operations, rushed appointments like an assembly line, less privacy, no doctor/patient relationships, no personage.
Canadian health-care, and England’s Health Care systems, which Americans wish to base a UHC system for our country on, IS a disaster! Americans for the most part, have not educated themselves on the Truth about UHC, but instead have listened to haters of America, like the Fat-GasBalloon who calls himself Michael Moore, a liar, a bash America Liberal film maker, who can’t debate, so uses filmography self-produced, directed, written, edited and, acted in by himself.
I know 1st hand England’s piss-poor excuse for medicine. Antony was barely 11 when he died the night of his mothers birthday, he was born with a hole in his heart. They took all his years for him to have only received 2 operations to close his heart, but he needed 3, and was still waiting for the last one, they had put him on a medication to get him by in-between operations, he had been on it so long his teeth has almost all fallen out, he mostly ate yogurt because he could not chew well with a few teeth, doctors would not take him off the meds, Jill his mother had told me many times. He was restless after Mums birthday dinner, so both Mum and dad has stayed up with him for a time, then Jill went to bed, Dad stayed with Antony, he was not sick she said, just wrestless, Antony got up to use the loo and dropped to the floor, collapsed, Andy, his dad did Cpr but could not revive him, Jill called Ambulance, announced DOA at Hospital…Yorkshire’s coroner pronounced cause of death an Asthma attack. Antony did not have asthma.
Do you want to trade your doctor for Antony’s 20 odd different doctors, and their “Cures” for your ailments?
April 27th, 2007 Antony Peter Smith died at the age of 11, when he should not have died, but should have had the hole in his heart sewn closed in ONE operation by the age of 3 as would have happened if he were an American with the current Health-Care available NOW.
America has the BEST Medical Care in the World, and the Best Doctors, because they can make as much money as they work for by desire to HAVE more. Capitalism WORKS, Socialism does NOT work!!!!!!!
You got that YET, Wanna-be Socialists???????
Your false Messiah, Barry Soetoro will take you, and your family’s good medical now, and turn it into a horrifying nightmare you will never awaken from, if you don’t wise up, and you let this Con-artist convince you he will take care of you and your families health.
Buy your funeral plots now while you can afford to, before he has taken all your money in taxes to pay for all his Earmarks he swore to we the people he had NONE.
Here is your Second option for a health-care/nightmare—Canada… UHC:
VANCOUVER – While Canada is one of the world’s top healthcare spenders, it has fallen into the bottom ranks of industrialized countries when it comes to the acquisition and use of high-tech medical equipment such as MRI and CT scanners.
According to a new study released by the Fraser Institute, a public-policy think-tank, the lack of access to advanced medical equipment could lead to poorer medical outcomes for Canadians, compared with patients in other countries.
“The failure of the medical technology infrastructure means that surgery and diagnostic procedures are delayed, and this results in declining patient health,” said Dr. Bill McArthur, a practicing physician and author of the report, titled The Availability of Medical Technology in Canada: An International Comparative Study.

  2. Liberal Asskicker Says:

Many of them do because they know that, as soon as the legislation is passed, they can increase their billings because of the way government payments work.
Any such legislation will mean an immediate increase in the cost of health care.
If the fraud already exists with insurance companies paying the bills, it will multiply at least 10 times in the first few years until cheating on billings becomes as common as cheating on taxes.

  3. Barry auh2o Says:

It isn;t so much that practicing physicians will lose their incentive to practice.
The issue is, with what it costs to go through 8 years of undergrad and med school, plus another 2-3 years of internship and residency on a wage that sucks, what incentrive will be there for a bright, young high school student to want to go into medicine.? Who will replace the older ones who retire??

  4. gomanyes Says:

Yes, most physicians support national health insurance.
What makes you think they will “no longer be in control of their practice”? They will still be in full control of their practice.
The reason they support it is because they know they will get paid, and they don’t have to worry about dealing with stupid insurance companies.

  5. The Patriot Says:

Some do, some do not. In nations with universal healthcare, most doctors would be against moving to the US system.
First of all, Obama is not going to bring in universal healthcare. He wants to make insurance more available to all.
Second, of course universal health-cover sucks. That is why we in Western Europe have it. We think, hmm, our healthcare system sucks. I know, lets keep it. I guess that is the same with Japan and Canada as well.
FACT – the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet.
FACT – the US has higher death rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with universal health coverage.
That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, Cuba, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage.

  6. Levon the Man Says:

It doesn’t matter what those damned physicians think! They’ll be made part of the socialist machine and bygod they’ll like it!
Or..they’ll move their practice off shore and make a good living servicing many of the very same social elite who are now pushing this massive “man-made disaster” on the rest of us. Seriously libs..do you think Sean Penn and Rosie O. are going to stand in line behind YOU to get treatment? LOL if you believe that!

  7. §§pecial Unicorn™ Says:

Most will not. As long as they are not extremely brilliant yet only have book smarts and can’t see past the reality of such an existence. And I assure you…with how many of them puff their way through medical school and residencies–common sense is not the deciding factor here.

maybe it’s about more than “personal incentive based on money”?
some seem to think so… some may even be in it to… God forbid… help people?
curing a sick child may even be incentive for some people, as insane as that sounds…

  9. shjOlds_ Says:

It’s very possible the answer yes because of billing. Look into how much the VA pays for 100 caplets of Tylenol verses the price Medical Care/Caid pays. Price gauging is an understatement.

  10. Incarcerated Bert Says:

Many do support it, probably because they are tired of so many non-insured patients they get no money from at all.
