Do You Have To Get A Bs In Biology Then Go To Nursing School?

I know there are 2 year nursing degrees, then 4 year nursing degrees. How does the 4 year nursing work? I've heard that you get a degree in Biology then go to a nursing school?? I'm not sure if this is right. If you know, let me in on it! Thank you!

No, you do not have to have a degree in Biology- but you will need to take some core science classes such as Anatomy & Phsyiology, Microbiology and Chemistry before hand.
Since they usually take the same licensing exam for passing the boards, you should not need the BS in Biology. It would not hurt you to get it if you are interested in the courses, but it is not a requirement for most programs.
    Hopefully this helps.
    Good Luck.

No, you don’t get a degree first in Biology to get your BSN (although you do take alot of biology courses). To get your BSN, you go through a University and get into their 4 yrs nursing program. After you graduate from the program you take the licensing exam for your state to become a RN.

No. You will, however have to take a lot of prerequisites though. I suggest take all of them at a junior college then transfer to a 4 year school to get your Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing ~ BSN.

a 4 year bio degree is not required for nursing school.
you can enroll in a B.S. nursing program right out of highschool in any college that offers it.

The 2 year program is an Associate Degree. The 4 year program is Bachlor of Science Degree.
