Does Having Severe Adhd Mean That I Won’t Do Well In Nursing School?
I have predominantly inattentive adhd. I have a very hard time focusing which concerns me becuz I have heard that this type of school is very demanding. I plan on getting back on ritalin. It is 10x harder for me to do my homework becuz I get easily distracted and can't focus but I can get good grades. Any nursing students out there who can provide me feedback would be appreciated.

Check options.
When your parents attended school, there was no ADHD. Some guys were good at school and some not. And those who were not – were good at sport or were skilful. And everyone found his/her place in life. Today, everything is disease or disorder. Why? Short story: pharmaceutical companies pay psychiatrists to create new diagnosis that cover all human behaviour today = everyone can be diagnosed – why? – to sell more of their dangerous drugs.
One can get better at school – but not with drugs.

Dr. Mary Ann Block
“Because of my medical training, my goal as a physician is to look for and treat the underlying conditions causing the patient’s problem, rather than just covering up those symptoms with drugs. I have seen and treated thousands of children from all over the United States, who had previously been labeled ADHD and treated with amphetamine drugs. By taking a thorough history and giving these children a complete physical exam as well as doing lab tests and allergy testing, I have consistently found that these children do not have ADHD, but instead have allergies, dietary problems, nutritional deficiencies, thyroid problems and learning difficulties that are causing their symptoms. All of these medical and educational problems can be treated, allowing the child to be successful in school and life, without being drugged.”

Here is a little taste of ADHD drugs like Ritalin
You can find facts about Ritalin in this booklet which is available on-line.
It is the fifth booklet from lefthttp://www.drugfreeworld.org/#/publicati…
Quote:
“Even when Ritalin is used as prescription drug, it may have severe side effects including nervousness, insomnia, anorexia (eating disorder), pulse changes, heart problems and weight loss. The manufacturer says it is a drug of dependency.
In June 2005, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a series of public health advisories warning that Ritalin and drugs like it may cause visual hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, psychotic behavior, as well aggression and violence behavior.”

Look . I have adult adhd . I had sever adhd when i was a child. at 3 years old I tried to take food from a dog, at 4 they let me run in streets , so i lose my energy. it was in south america , so they let me run, and usually came with toruble.
now I didn’t know i have ADHD util i was 20.
and that is self diagnose.
Im really hyper; when i’am alone i tend to scream random words just to realease that energy and emotion.
Now i like my adhd because of the gift that it give us. I just don’t like the not being able to focus.
if it wasn’t for this gift I wouldn’t have entrepreneurial skill that i have, and im not able to generate all those business ideas that come in my head.
the high energy help me do things fast.
the hyper focus is also awsome.
now if you want to deal with this naturally try tyrosine , folic acid . and B6 vitamin. tyrosine is what create dopamine , dopamine is what help us focus. people with adhd tend to have low dopamine.
by the way don’t try if you have epilepsy.
I have epilepsy and im not able to adhd medication . the folic acid is what im warning about if you have epilepsy.

how old are you?
ADHD symptoms usually leave as you enter adulthood. sometimes it can move on to adult ADHD, but that’s unlikely. any sort of secondary schooling is demanding and requires quite a lot of effort. if medication helps then i think you should get back on it. if you’re capable of getting good grades i don’t think you have anything to worry about.

NAET is not a recommended therapy. it is a holistic approach that is not based in science
if you take the proper medication then you should be fine.
stimulant medication is safe if you have ADHD. it is not scary. it will not kill you. it will not make you a zombie.
get counseling and get back on your meds. trust me it will make it alot better for you

.
Have you heard of a technique called NAET?
It is supposed to work wonders with ADD and ADHD.
Maybe you could try it, and if it works, you could perhaps specialize in it after you get your nursing degree.

I had it and excelled in nursing school. Mind over matter.

Ahorn Says “When your parents attended school, there was no ADHD”
Proof? Would you cite evidence for this statement?
“Today, everything is disease or disorder.”
Everything? Can you be specific?
“pharmaceutical companies pay psychiatrists to create new diagnosis that cover all human behaviour today”
Would you offer your documentation for our review that reveal what these companies have paid to psychiatrists? Include individual’s names, amounts, new diagnoses, patent information, total payouts by the particular company over the past 30 years.
“One can get better at school – but not with drugs.”
Do you recommend that people who are following doctors’ directions should stop, immediately?

Hello ambitious pre-nursing student.
A few thoughts.
First, it is great to see you reaching out to others with similar struggles and that you have the willingness to educate yourself in a demanding field of study.
Consult with your doctor(s,) preferably those who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of adult ADHD. Ask if she/he will monitor your academic performance in relation to your use of said medications. Perhaps, suggest to your doctor, that under his supervision, you’d like to test your capacity to tend to your school work with the prescribed medication. Under his supervision, ask if you could try to compare the results with a stretch of time in which you don’t take meds.
How did meds work for you before when you were in school or on the job? Did you find a significant improvement in your capacity to concentrate and to direct your focus of concentration?
There are a number of meds used today. One might work where another didn’t. Non-pharmacological approaches to manage your symptoms are important factors, as well.
Remember, too, you don’t have to continue taking meds for ADHD if you don’t want to. It’s your choice.
Good luck.

maybe you should ask them if they do tutoring for your problem

Fred Baughman says he testified in a pivotal court case in 1991. “The case gained parents the right to say whether or not their children should take psychiatric drugs.”
Therefore, we conclude that prior to his testimony, parents lost the right to decide if their children would have o take drugs?

“how old are you?
ADHD symptoms usually leave as you enter adulthood. sometimes it can move on to adult ADHD, but that’s unlikely.”
Exactly the opposite. Most born with it continue to suffer with it for life. The manifest symptoms may change but the disorder most often persists. The fallacy that kids outgrew it was just that. For that reason, in part, many continued to suffer from its crippling impact.
More than anything, if someone, if anyone, tells you or anyone else that there is simply no such thing as ADHD, that there is no proof whatsoever that ADHD exists, direct him to a competent M.D. like Ned Hallowell (Driven To Distraction) who not only treats it, he has it. There are some very sick, perverted, bombastic blowhards who sell books and DVDs and feign genuine concern for the “victims” of the drug cartels, Pharmaceutical Companies, because they try to warn the retarded, duped jerks-you and me-who are being murdered daily by these criminal enterprises with the cooperation of every single psychiatrist alive today, the FDA and the U.S. Government. This band of thugs set Hitler on his path of destruction, too, according to these lunatics. So, when they come knocking on your door, find out what they charge for their merchandise before accepting anything they say.
