4 years of college and 4 years in medical school.
After that, you get paid. It is slave labor and you will be working about 80 hours a week for your 40 grand a year, but you will get paid.

4 years of undergrad work (sometimes more), 4 years of medical school (some med schools also offer a 6 year program) then 2 years of residency. I believe you do get paid when you are a resident, but not very much. To be quite frank I think you are the attending physicians slave for much less than they make (even though they are both MD’s). Then you make the real money, which is NOT a good reason to become a doctor

You don’t specify what type of doctor (medicine and pediatrics are not specific).
The fastest way to become a doctor is to become a veterinarian. It’s seven years, start to finish.

    4 years of undergrad
    4 years of medical school
depending on what type of doctor you want to be 2-3 years of residency
    then full doctor
