Hospital Volunteer Work; What Work Do I Do And Is Their Something Suitable For A Medical Hopeful?

I live in Melbourne, Australia. I have been thinking about volunteering at the Royal Melbourne Hospital but I wasn't sure. What work can I do there and can I play a role which will give me a better understanding of the career path of a doctor. I'm an undergraduate hoping for graduate entry into medicine at the Uni of Melbourne and was wondering whether there were any pre-med options available at any hospitals in Melbourne. Any information would be great.
