How Do I Get Started Going To Nursing School?

I am 23, in the middle of a divorce, working a full-time job, with a 2-year-old that lives with me full-time. I want to go to nursing school. I've been to college before, 3 semesters. How do I go about getting in? What can I do to prepare? Any tips on balancing my son, my full-time job and school? Any advice is very much appreciated.

Your first step is to find a local college or university that offers a nursing program. Then set up a meeting with a counselor. Be sure to take in your transcripts with you so they can tell you what general ed classes you need before applying to the nursing program. Most nursing programs have a wait. Some up to 2 years!!!
As for juggling family, career and school – it’s hard. Talk to your family and try to see who can or will help you out. Good luck!

take yourself to the nearest college and begin your nursing school prerequisities. you will be taking classes for 1-2 yrs before you even start nursing school. you can probably work and do classes at night. once you begin nursing school, you may need to stop working or go part-time though
