I Am 23, Is It Worth Training To Be A Doctor At Such A Late Age?

I only got a B in my science GCSE's and did no scientific subjects in my A levels. So I think I'd have to do those before I even thought about medical school. Is it worth it, considering I'd potentially be in education for the next 10 years?

23 isn’t even a late age so no, I don’t think your too old to train. plus going to school for only 10 more years is gonna make more of your many more years… better than flipping burgers is all i have to say [=

It’s completely worth it. I’m 24 and in school, and possibly will be for the next 6 years. Anyways, it’s worth it..especially if it’s something you love. Especially now; with the economy being like it is now you have to have some form of education to get anywhere in life. If you are thinking about it now, I would just go on and do it..You could possibly regret it later on!

Go for it, you’re not old, nor will you be when you graduate. However it’s a big commitment and a very specific field to go into, so I’d be sure that it’s something your going to give 100% to and that it’s something you be happy doing for the rest of your working life.

And in ten years you’ll be 33. So will you if you don’t pursue your plan. So go for it! A cousin of mine decided at 26 or 27 that he wanted to go to medical school. He had to take a few pre-med courses first, but he graduated from medical school at 32 and practiced for the rest of his life.

Just do what you love to do in life. That’s what I’m doing. If this is want you want to go for then you better before it’s too late. Life is short.

I don’t know where you’re from, but in the U.S. students don’t start med school until they are at least 22 (at the earliest). Twenty-three is definitely not considered old at all unless you are only planning on living until you are about 30.

Late age? Cmon now, you surely realize that when you finish at 33 you’ll still be young. 30 is the new 20. It’s never to late to further your education and career.

  8. Samantha Says:

yea! definetly u should go for it , in the end it will all pay off. 33 is still young and you’ll make hecka money and help save lives.
