If The President’s Health Care Bill Sucks, What Is The Republican Option?

What is it in the GOP health care plan that would be best for Americans since progressives say that the Republicans are defending the health care industry which they have accused of inflating premiums and making healthcare a headache for working class Americans?

I’m for health reform, but not a government take over of health care. I and most people if they were honest would agree the only problem with US health care is rising cost, so in light of this, why do liberals want to scrap an entire system that has served us so well rather than address the one area where there’s a problem ? The congressional budget office came out with a report last year showing how out of our 2.3 trillion dollar health care cost last year a whopping 500 to 700 billion dollars of it was a result of patients receiving to much health care they didn’t need.
Most of this health care was a result of doctors taking extra precautionary measures to ward off the barrage of lawsuits that are constantly driving up their malpractice insurance hence passing that cost onto to customers. So what’s the answer ? I say address cost by implementing aggressive tort reform legislation and capping jury awards. We could also bring down cost by lifting government mandates off insurers requiring them to cover unnecessary or immoral procedures and enabling them to offer more discounted bare bones plans. God bless.

Not only does it suck, it’s socialistic. By very definition.
    Here’s what’s been proposed.
    1. Tort reform
    2. Eliminating wasteful spending
    And here’s the granddaddy….
Rewrite the health insurance codes making it a personal policy non-related to work and independent from employment….such as car insurance or any other type of insurance. This would create greater wide spread competition, driving down prices and lowering deductables due to the increased competition.
That’s capitalism at its finest. But Obama has a socialist agenda, so it will never fly.
    You drank the Kool-Aid? Dintcha???

  3. truth seeker Says:

their only plan is to cut taxes on the richest of Americans….. and that will trickle down so that we can all afford the $12,000 a year that is now the average cost of health insurance for a family in America…..
they have shown that they have zero desire for health care reform, even though over 90% of Americans are in favor of it.

  4. how_woul Says:

    TORT REFORM!!
We can cut 20% or so off the cost of healthcare without increasing taxes, eliminating personal choice and without any increased governmetn involvement.
It’s a no brainer.. and liberals refuse to even talk about it.

  7. Galaxie Girl Says:

You could look up the other health care bills that were proposed in Congress by Republicans and read them for yourself.
That is, IF you really wanted to know.

  8. kadiss17 Says:

Open up the industry to more competition. Allow us to buy across state lines (just like car insurance), and tort reform.

  9. E G Says:

    1. Tort reform
    2. Eliminating wasteful spending
    3. giving a tax break for those who are insured

  10. Walleye1 Says:

I keep hearing about Ron Paul’s plan. Anyone know the specifics on it? Be brief.
