I’m Having A Hard Time Obtaining Another Position In The Health Care Industry.?
I'm currently a certified home health aid through an agency that I've worked for over 3 years but before this position I was convicted of two misdemeanors, theft & criminal damaging in the year of 2000. I know it played a huge part in me almost not getting this current position but once I explained what had occurred and the outcome of the situation I was hired and since haven't had any problems with the law. My question is, I attended and graduated with a degree in medical billing and coding in September of 2007 but not yet certified and has had the hardest time with finding employment. How far back in your criminal record does a employer go? I don't know if I'm just paranoid or if I'm not being considered because of my past. I even went into a few agencies and was truthful about my past but was quickly shot down with denial, so if an agency won't consider me, what makes me think a major hospital corporation would. I need serious answers and soon. Also I'm thinking about attending school again I'm determined to find a job in the health care industry, any suggestions or advice I'll greatly appreciate. I'm just trying to stay in this preferred field.

You must be realistic and look for jobs where ever they exist in the nation. The health care industry is recession proof but that’s not the case everywhere so spread your search area and don’t be afraid to move away. In the mean time you can help people maintain health and still make some money with this:
