I am planning on attending a bachelor's program for nursing in a year and would like to get a dog now. If I organize my time well would I have enough time for a dog during nursing school? Personal experience would be great!

I dated a guy who was going through nursing school.. You aren’t going to have much time for anything. Most of his time was spent studying.
I’m not saying it isn’t possible, just that it would be better to wait until you’re finished with nursing school unless you have a roomate or someone else living with you who can help care for the dog.
If you do get one, get an adult. They’re less demanding than puppies are and you can get away with being gone/occupied for longer without having to worry about the dog needing to go potty.

A friend of mine is going to nursing school right now. Its her first semester. She is married and has a 1 year old dog. From her experience, do not get a dog. She has no time for anything, except studying. The dog is alone for 9 hours a day and she doesnt get walked at all, unless i go over there.
Please wait until you are done with school. It’ll be worth the wait.

Not a puppy. That’s like having an infant.
An older dog from rescue, trained and housebroken, most certainly. Have a pet sitter have your house key and be on call just in case you get stuck at school or the hospital.
