Universal Health-care:fix The Health-care Industry First Or Ram The Socialist Premiums Down Our Throats First?

Before forcing me,and every other American to pay for universal health-care and further enrich the heath-care industry, wouldn't it make more fiscal sense to clean up the health-care industry first and then see if a universal health-care plan is really needed?

Amen! Sense being spoken at last. You have hit the nail on the head–the government’s excessive involvement and the domination of the handful of insurers are what cause the problems. That the free market works is proven by the fact that where the third-party payers (and corruption from them of all sound principles) are not the norm, care is affordable and acessible:
    LASIK
    plastic surgery

walk-in clinics at Wal-Mart, CVS, grocery stores, etc.
You might want to check the PDF out here (and the book’s chapter on health care is huge, supports your accurate assessment, and also offers ways to improve the current system):http://www.booklocker.com/books/3068.htm…

Just use Federal money to pay for it like Mitt did as Governor.

Now you make sense! Even if they clean things up first. Universal Health Care still won’t work. Only problem is, when a President says what they want to do. Takes them years to get the things done. Congress holds every thing up. Need to clean up our Congress also.

I agree. And, what they need to do is put health care back into the hands of doctors, NOT insurance companies. Who the hell are they to tell my doctor a procedure isn’t necessary? If you “socialized medicine” people are so arrogant to think that the government health care system would be better, go live in Canada or Europe for a year. You’d better hope you don’t get sick.

  5. irockaro Says:

Federalism. Let the states handle their own healthcare systems.

  6. MadLibs Says:

Quite possibly. Have everyone lower their prices first. The insurance companies, doctor’s, drug companies, etc.

  7. Obama or Nader Says:

I’m looking forward to the socialist health care plan that covers everyone and is paid from tax dollars like every other country in the world has.
Health insurance companies have no place in a health care system, and limits on drug prices should be mandated by congress.

  8. CHARITY G Says:

Intervening in corporate enterprise is just as socialist and quite probably fascist.

  9. slew Says:

That’s hard to do because most bureaucrat can’t tell the difference between appropriate care and someone padding their wallet. But I agree, Universal Healthcare would be a disaster. I’ve seen how government run healthcare like in the VA system and I’ve seen teh Canadaian system and neither works. The cost cutting measures I’ve seen are scary though. They are actually outsourcing Hospital works. They are sending are Xrays to be read in India and sending patients to Mexico from California. The Doctor who signs the Xray maybe certified, but there is no way we can verified if it read by certified doctor. As to Mexico, the insurance company may check out the doctor, but secondary care are ignored. Labs and xrays can be done by unqualified personnel.
