When i was finally discharged from hospital after a year long illness ( as an outpatient) i bought the department a huge bouquet of flowers and a basket of fruit- along with a thank you card.I believe both the flowers and fruit were distributed amongst other patients in the hospital who got very few visitors.Nothing is expected and anything is gratefully received, very few people actually go to the bother of saying ‘thank you’.

we like flowers, fruit baskets, any type of food, thank you cards, writing a letter to the Patient Relations Department, giving the names of all the individuals that you would like to be recognized. the department will put a copy of the letter in each person’s file which will go a long way when it comes time for a raise. honestly, anything that you choose to do will be greatly appreciated by all!

chocolates and a thank you card, always go down well.
also if you are really impressed why not write a letter to a local paper to thank them, would mean so much, usually all you hear of the health service is negative would make a nice change for their hard work to be appreciated :)

Everyone loves chocolates, because they are the easiest to share. I would suggest you buy a few boxes though and distribute them to the departments you wish to thank.
