What Do I Do With New Unopened Medical Equipment?
My child has had a trach since she was about 6 weeks old.We have accumalated lots of extra medical equipment like extra trachs, suction catheters,Heat and Moisture exchange (HME's) etc. Most places cannot accept them for legal reasons and I've even given a bunch away. What should I do with the rest? Does anyone buy these things? I mean most of this equipment is worth hundreds of $'s so I'd hate to just toss them.Any suggestions?

I wonder if the Red Cross can use them in foreign countries?

Most places will not take it because of bacteria. No offence. Its like taking something unopened into a patients room and not using it. We can not take it to someone because it was in another patients room. (cross contamination).
Try EBAY.

Ask your child’s Doctor if there are any of her patients in need of these things. Every Doctor has at least a few patients who need medical supplies but can’t afford them. She probably can’t take them from you and give them the things but she might be able to give you contact info for someone in need.I have donated medical supplies to some child whom need the things but parents couldn’t afford them.

Just try to sell it to your family members and your only friends or if all of them didn’t buy, use it at emergency time because it might be your first aid kit at all times and it can help to you and your family
