Sorry to say this, but Obama is not bringing in universal healthcare. The insurance companies are annoyed though as he wants to make insurance more available to all. That will dent the profits they pass onto shareholders, and therefore the bonuses of CEO’s.
FACT – the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet.
FACT – the US has higher death rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with universal health coverage.
That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, Cuba, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage.

Universal Healthcare would never work in America … the healthcare industry and their associated businesses … hospitals, clinics, testing labs. pharmaceutical companies etc are too powerful … they see the American public as just one big ‘cash cow’ where the users just pay and pay and pay and if or when they can no longer afford to pay they are told to get lost.
We are no longer ‘patients’ but ‘clients’.
Just by looking at the answers already posted you can see how we have been brainwashed into thinking that that the push for universal healthcare is some enormous socialist/communist/fascist trick by the government trying to get their hands on your hard earned money and wasting it on some other American who is less deserving.
The irony is that even an ordinary citizen in a relatively poor country like Cuba has access to better healthcare than an average Joe in the US … and cheaper too!

Yes, universal health care would solve all our problems, just like all the other entitlement programs have that are going bankrupt. God bless.

The “hope and change” (TM)
He want’s to turn us into a European style welfare state. And he will succeed. You know why? Were ******* stupid. Just look at any obama voter to know what I mean.
Edit: Seems I struck a nerve…

They’d use tax money out of YOUR paycheck to purchase said KY, and then they’d give it back to you and call it a favor.

It’s funny we hear Republicans say that they do not want “faceless bureaucrats” making medical decisions but they have no problem with “private sector” “faceless bureaucrats” daily declining medical coverage and financially ruining good hard working people (honestly where can they go with a pre-condition). And who says that the “private sector” is always right, do we forget failures like Long-Term Capital, WorldCom, Global Crossing, Enron, Tyco, AIG and Lehman Brothers. Of course the federal government will destroy heathcare by getting involved, Oh but wait, Medicare and Medicaid and our military men and women and the Senate and Congress get the best heathcare in the world, and oh, that’s right, its run by our federal government. I can understand why some may think that the federal government will fail, if you look at the past eight years as a current history, with failures like the financial meltdown and Katrina but the facts is they can and if we support them they will succeed.
How does shouting down to stop the conversation of the healthcare debate at town hall meetings, endears them to anyone. Especially when the organizations that are telling them where to go and what to do and say are Republicans political operatives, not real grassroots. How does shouting someone down or chasing them out like a “lynch mob” advanced the debate, it does not. So I think the American people will see through all of this and know, like the teabagger, the birthers, these lynch mobs types AKA “screamers” are just the same, people who have to resort to these tactics because they have no leadership to articulate what they real want. It’s easy to pickup a bus load of people who hate, and that’s all I been seeing, they hate and can’t debate. Too bad.
