Boy you can tell your a liberal , The lights are on but no ones home. Hospitals and care for the sick is the very last place you cut budgets friend, Most places can be compromised. You talk as if hospitals are open for the express purpose of people getting plastic surgery and hanging out to drink beer, They are a necessity ! Not a luxury ! Get real and think about it ! Most hospitals I am aware of are struggling financially and living on a shoe string budget, And nurses and doctors work their tails off for hrs on end to receive an ok pay for the hrs they put in . If you want to blame anyone, Blame lawyers that sue hospitals over every little belly ache someone decides to complain about. High cost of medical care has to do with malpractice insurance Doctors are required to carry , And the cost of this insurance is going through the roof, So much so that most doctors are dropping out of medical school to become nurses or go into some other profession, Seeing the medical profession as not being worth it . It won’t. Why should hospitals have hiring caps?
I’m very happy that I was able to get an MRI the very next day when I blew out my back. How long do you suppose I’d have to wait if the government ran the whole show?
Did they turn you down for a job?

If it were to happen, then the government would offer a bailout (or buy in?) like they have the banking industry. And the medical industry will willingly hand over the reigns of private enterprise to the control of the government.

Hospitals weren’t too bad until the For-Profit capitalistic people put the medical system on their agenda.
Many not for profit hospitals still do a relatively good job.
It’s the insurance companies, the medical supply companies, pharmaceutical companies and other blood suckers who are doing the most damage.
