So why do liberals want Obama's complete government takeovers, when they say they believe in individuals' rights + freedoms?

  1. d t Says:

Who said they believe in rights and freedoms?

  2. Elvis Says:

    1. Salaries are only being controlled of the executives of companies that failed and would not exist today had the government not supported them. Do you think these executives who made outrageous fortunes should be awarded huge salaries after their companies failed?
    2. Just supporting GM , not the whole auto industry. I have a question for you. Had Obama not jumped in and supported the company, do you think unemployment would be lower or higher than it is now? THINK about it.
    3. I 100% support Obamacare. The current health care in America is a joke and an embarrassment to our country. Have a look at the rest of the world. Most people who have had healthcare overseas will tell you just how pathetic our system is.

  3. theMANim Says:

Look up “single-payer health care”. No control of salaries. That’s what liberals wanted and conservatives fought so hard against. By the way, it’s not socialized medicine (unless you are retarded and don’t actually know what socialism is). You have no idea of what you are talking about. These are sweeping statements based on your own assumptions. No one wants to take control of salaries, we do however want results for the money that has been given to them. Something that “conservatives” should be on board with.
Why don’t conservatives have any idea what liberals believe in? You’re sitting at a computer connected to the internet with a world of information at your finger tips and yet you’re incapable of seeking out information about the other side. There are two sides to every question. Try learning what they are before making assumptions about them.
Edit: Aw, thumbs down, he thinks we should inform ourselves before making decisions and hand waving.

  4. Hector Frodo Says:

    They don’t.
The auto industry has been historically important to the USA economy and the image we have of America and many people asked President Obama to save it–it wasn’t a “take over” he wanted.
Same thing for health care. The majority of Americans want health care reform and asked the president to take it on. Again, NOT something he wanted to do, it’s a “had to do”.

  5. jeffrey e Says:

When the Government owns private industry, isn’t that communism? You bet your @ss it is.
Ok, thumb me down, but as you do, give me ONE example of a Gov. program that was fiscally responsible and made money,,,come on,,,,give me ONE! YOU CAN”T!!!
Why can’t these clowns reform health care without this public option? What do you suppose that will do to the middle class, to drive up health care insurance that already is taking a HUGE % of their income already.
G.M. now is owned partly by the U.S., in my opinion, that’s communism. It’s just wrong. That company needed to quit selling gas guzzlers 35 years ago.

  6. Sunshine Says:

Regulating something isn’t “taking it over.” I have to follow traffic laws if I want to drive. At no point has a government official got in the car with me and taken over my driving. Simple regulation. Just like a Republican to use baseless hyperbole.
Perhaps Republicans would prefer if I drove 100 miles an hour, drunk as a skunk, running over small children with no accountability, no regulation. That is very similar to their other policies.

  7. RayHere Says:

I love the take over of the auto industry followed by the cash for clunkers paying people with our money to trade in a $4000 for a $40,000 hoping they can make the payments It made Toyota and Honda happy.Raising the price for cheap cars so the poor can not find one Good thinking
My 7 year old daughter handles her allowance better than these liberals

  8. GOZ2FAST Says:

Liberals are not liberal at all, it is a misnomer…they are actually into being an elite class that lords over everybody else…we should call them control freaks, not liberals…a liberal minded person in actuality would want to be liberated from the shackles of governmental controls, regulations and taxation…We should rename liberals what they really are…ELITIST CONTROL FREAKS.

  9. Ben Says:

Anyone who favors those moves favors socialism. That can only describe a left leaning democrat or liberal. Why, you ask? They seem to see some magic in the propaganda they’ve been fed.
I sure wish they would point to just one success story that has succeeded under these conditions, before they push any harder for these changes.

  10. Yin Says:

Liberals are weird. They don’t understand much. Many live their lives with Conservative values like Self Responsibility, balanced budget at home, morals, etc… but when it comes to the Federal Governemnt they just don’t get it. They want the Bamster to run everything and make it “Fair”

  11. lawgirl Says:

We don’t. If you remember, the bailouts were wanted by those corps. They did not have to take the money. Healthcare reform isn’t anything like you are making it out to be, I don’t feel threatened by a healthcare exchange where i have more choices than I do now. Including opting out.

  12. Bad Wolf Says:

First he forces these companies to take the money whether they wanted it or not.
Then he claims that that gives him the right to set certain rules and limitations.
Do you know who else does that? THE MOB.
    He’s running a criminal enterprise.

  13. Stony Says:

What happened Bush started this bail out before Obama could control it so the CEO took most of the tax payers money and Obama did the right thing and took over till GM could find a way to do the right thing on their own.

  14. Quan Says:

What “individual rights” are taken away when a car company is taken over by the government?

  15. extremis Says:

Yes, the taking over of industry by government is anti-liberty, clearly.

  16. sacto_no Says:

Because those crazy straw men you’re so upset about will do whatever you ask them to do.

  17. firewome Says:

So you think only liberals will benefit.*

  18. TedEx Says:

The thirst for power. They want the ability to run our lives for us., to say other wise is BS!

  19. Lollie Says:

    Regular?
You don’t sound regular. Try some prune juice.

  20. M&T Says:

Wouldn’t it be easier on all of us if we just sent all the liberals to France….now that’s some thing I wouldn’t mind my tax money going towards!

  21. nostrada Says:

    yes, yes and yes.
when obama suggests that we limit the amount of bonus that a bank that would not be in business were it not for taxpayer money he is fighting for individual rights:
the individuals who PAID those salaries in the first place – that would be us american taxpayers!
