I think they probably talk about their patients..like so and so is a drug-seeker..but im sure they dont have the time to be gossiping..they are very busy!

They really are not gossipy. Everyone is too busy working on patients to even talk or have sex in the storage closet. All people talk about is medical stuff.

No, its not. Real doctors are a lot more professional than the people in these shows, so there is a lot less gossip.

um…NO. Are you completely ignorant to the fact that there is HIPPA to protect you and the patients? Your problem is that you watch too much tv. Go to a library and look up HIPPA. Or better yet, go do a shadow at a hospital for a day

Officially, hospitals do not make gossip about patients, or issue medical records (officially or secretly); that is a matter of policy, and people doing such things could go to prison (after a trial, of course). However, unofficially, hospitals (meaning the people working for the hospitals, doctors or nurses, orderlies, etc.) do gossip all the time. This is just to break the boredom during times of inactivity, but this is a minor issue because the hospitals are always very busy and there is no time for small talks or gossip for that matter.

    Good luck to you.
