Can Navy/Air Force Nurse aides (or any medical tech) wear skirt or dress scrubs instead of pants?
Discount Medical Scrubs
Hi, I am a pentecostal female who wishes to join the Navy or Air Force Reserve/ANG next year. I recently became a certified nurse assistant. My religion doesn't permit women wearing pants, but I wear pajama pants and shorts (mainly @ home). I don't mind wearing pants during BT and technical training, but I will really like to wear pants scrub alternatives (scrub skirts/dresses) during my drill/weekend training/career as a medic tech, nurse assistant, or hospital corpsman. I think scrub skirts/dresses should be allowed in all branches of the military like they are allowed in civilan hospitals, nursing homes, etc. I like many of the ones the nurses wore in the early 1900's. Someone please help. BTW, I perfer someone who has been/is enlisted in the Air force Reserve, Air National Guard or Navy Reserve to answer my question. Thank you.

From looking at AFI 36-2903, I see no mention of skirt or dress scrubs specifically for medical/hospital staff. The only authorized wear of scrubs will be the scrub shirt and pants.
There are skirts for the female’s blue dress uniform…but that’s not a working uniform like a scrub. I don’t think you can wear one because the AF doesn’t seem to have that uniform item at all in their inventory. The scrubs only come in pants and cannot be worn outside of the operating room unless it’s an emergency.
