Can somebody please identify this medical job?
Discount Medical Scrubs
I was watching national geographic earlier today and it showed a operating room. There were two men in apron like scrubs, who I believe were the doctors.
There was a woman who was wearing a medical mask, but NOT (regular scrubs) a apron and reading from a medical file. I'm just wondering what her job was. ICU nurse? anesthesia? maybe another doctor?
I'm just curious cause it looked so interesting

Sounds like either the CRNA/Anesthesia person (the one who puts and keeps you asleep during surgery) or the circulating nurse (usually a RN-their job is to chart and document all that happens during the procedure. They also assist the other members of the surgical team by getting suppiles and many other things needed)

I would assume that the woman was either an anaesthetist, though usually they are wearing normal scrubs like the surgeons or a surgical nurse of some sort – not necessarily an ICU nurse. However, it is very difficult to get an idea from your description.
For exploring careers in the medical world, two websites are very good: the NHS careers website and Prospects website (which is actually good also for exploring other careers as well). There are loads of different jobs within the operating room, so I think your best bet is to read a wealth of descriptions within the two websites I have provided below to gauge which are more similar to what you see yourself doing/what you find interesting.
