Haven't had to go on a job interview in a long time. Are slacks and a good sweater okay for ladies?

Discount Medical Scrubs

I'm interviewing tomorrow at a small animal hospital/feline specialty practice for a technician (nursing) position. The regular daily dress code is medical scrubs. In this business, it's fine to interview in scrubs, but I wanted to show a little more polish to go along with my years of related job experience. It's also going to be rather chilly this week!

I have a very cute pair of dressy black slacks and a red sweater with a portrait neckline that hits just at my collarbone-- no deep plunge. The sweater is berry red with a tailored fit, not loose but not skin tight, of a plain and simple knit. Ordinarily, I wouldn't ever wear a red garment to an interview or any other serious meeting like going to court, but I relax that "rule" in December out of my spirit for the holidays.

The sweater's neckline and fit are similar to the one that I have posted in the link, but the sleeves are full length and the cowl rides just a little higher on my collarbone.

The slacks are tailored fit with a boot cut leg. I'll be wearing simple black boots with a small buckle and heel (about 2"). Boots are commonplace in my area (SW United States). I'm not talking goat-ropers or Uggs, though-- I'm talking about semi-dressy boots sort of like these but without the white stitching, and the buckles are silver--

No other jewelry, other than some small silver drop earrings and a silver-tone dressy watch (and of course, my wedding rings which are platinum with diamonds). I have long black hair that I'll wear in a pretty braid, if that helps complete the mental image.

Think that would work, or would a suit/dress be more appropriate?

I think that is perfectly appropriate. Normally, my rule of thumb is go with a suit even if the workplace is more casual but since it is scrubs, Id say what you have picked out will work perfectly!

I think that will look great. Good luck with the job.
