Check with your local junior colleges or trade schools which offer the same training in 2 years for under $1,000. Private trade schools are a waste of money especially when they cannot guarantee you any job placement.

    Good luck!

When considering the fact that hospitals, doctors offices, etc. actually hire for those positions with no education or training, you might re-think. If you are going to pay that kind of money, consider going to school to be an RN. I know someone who went through a medical assistant school and the wages that the school claimed they should expect after training were very much inflated.

Yes. You will begetting (if you can find one) a job that pays $9-12/hr. It would take you decades to pay that tuition back. Scrubs are cheap, you don’t use that many books & the exam is not expensive either. If you want to further your career at all, the course does not transfer anywhere.

Listen to Diane! She speaks the truth. I went to school for medical assisting and paid 6,000, to me that is too much. All the jobs want you to have 1 to 2 years experience, you don’t have that as a new grad. Don’t do it! If you really want to be a MA, go to the cheapest school possible. When I was on my externship a girl that went to a really cheap school got hired over me. Medical assisting is not worth it if you ask me, you do better taking a CNA program. There would be a higher chance of you getting a job. And it will take you years to pay off the debt from a program that lead to nowhere. Don’t make the same mistake I did!
