med interns and sugical interns?

Discount Medical Scrubs

did surgical interns become medical interns first? im so confused... in 'scrubs' the protagonist was a medical intern but his best friend was a surgical intern... from what i know surgeons 'specialized'... i dont know if Turk(the sugical intern in 'scrubs') is older or what...im just really confused...

    Never go by the TV shows
    look at the courses and see what comes first and then see for your self and if you really want to go for it, that’s when you will see it first hand to make the better career in this.
    but get ready to study really hard and do the best you can do.
    it’s all up to you.

    those wanting to be an internist (Internal Medicine specialty) do medical internship. For those wanting to be surgeons, do their internship in surgery.
