Muslim women training in several hospitals in England, have objected to removing their arm coverings in theatre and to rolling up their sleeves when washing their hands, because it is regarded as immodest in Islam.
New Department of Health guidelines, introduced this month, stipulate that all doctors must be bare below the elbow.
According to a report in The Telegraph, the measure has been deemed necessary to stop the spread of infections such as MRSA and Clostridium difficile, which have killed hundreds.

If they do not wish to obey the rules, then they shouldn’t be in those positions. My only concern for which I have no information is the consideration that the rule was introduced for this very reason. There is no way for me to know.

If they can’t keep with regulations then they should not be allowed to medical students.

There’s a legit reason why the Dept. of Health has those guidelines. If they don’t want to roll up their sleeves because of their religion then let them go. You can’t give a few people some wiggle room or else everyone else will want it and the guidelines would no longer be guidelines.

I think that every medical student must follow the rules-period. They should be expelled!
