when i go to college in a few years, i'm planning on going pre-med (i want to be a surgeon.) what if i go to a less prestigous school and do exceptionally well there, would i still have a shot at getting into a more prestigous medical school such as stanford, even harvard???

Yup.
In higher education, ur undergraduate years doesn’t really matter (in terms of where you school NOT ur grades). Nevertheless, it does help if you go to a fairly achieved school. Ur school may like be known for biology and not business management or econ. Kind of like UMBC and UMCP (Univ of Maryland Baltimore County nd College Park). College park is known for the commerce, financial aspect while UMBC is more scientific. College park however is considered the IVY league branch of the Univ of Maryland School System but it wouldn’t be wise for a premed or bio major to go to UMCP and vice versa for an lets say…

First, you can no longer major in "pre-med," the major does not exist. What this means: you can major in English, philosophy, art, etc. and still get into medical school. There are criteria that must be met, however, when applying to medical school (ie: two semesters of general chemistry, two semesters of organic chemistry, a semester in biochemistry, two semesters of college-based calculus, two semesters of physics, two semesters in biology, anatomy, physiology, classes, behavioral sciences). Usually students interested in attending medical school major in biology, or biological/biomedical sciences. Your GPA and MCAT score are very important. Also, medical school admissions boards like to see students that have had experience in a hospital setting (ie: volunteer work, shadowing).
For example, Harvard Medical School averages are something like this:
MCAT Bio = 12
MCAT Phys = 12
MCAT Verbal = 11
GPA = 3.83
Take home message = there is a real world outside of TV world. do some research.

its all about grades your MCAT score and most important is how you interview. the MCAT and interviews are the key
also be sure to do some extra activites like working/volunter at a hospital
