Universal Health Care In America?
Universal health care is very possibly the worst idea ever conceived of. The socialists always glorify this, much to the dismay of rational people that believe in common sense. However, since there will always be socialists, there will eventually be universally socialized medicine as well. While we cannot completely stop them, we must slow the advance of the socialists for the good of the country.
Socialists often claim that socialized medicine is better for the citizens of the country; this is clearly false, because socialized systems never, EVER function efficiently at all. With this logical train wreck of the socialists exposed, it is clear that socialized medicine will never be good.
For another dis-proof of socialized medicine, listen to Rush Limbaugh's radio broadcast from a few years back. Limbaugh says that health care professionals KNOW that socialized medicine is a bad idea; the recording also reveals that the health care professionals were indeed telling the truth in the survey, and must have been right. Therefore socialized medicine is wrong.
Remember when Clinton criticized Obama's health care plan for forcing people to buy health insurance, whether they wanted it or not? Let's say that, since everyone is required to get health insurance, that 30% of them make under $15,000/year. If they're forced to pay for some of it, many of them wouldn't have the money. 30% of the people would be unable to pay for the additional costs forced onto them by the socialists! Socialized medicine is insane; the socialists, rather than HELPING the little man, will be HURTING the little man.
Universal health care is not the only answer, nor the best answer to the millions of people that don't have health insurance. It's very easy to fix, after all; if they would only spend their money to get health insurance, the problem would be solved! It's a remarkably easy alternative to socialism, one that's a lot better! After all, we NEED to make sure that everyone has health insurance; everyone would have health insurance if they simply paid for it themselves. It would be the economically rational thing to do. Therefore, everyone MUST necessarily buy health insurance themselves.
There are two options here: first, we can socialize our entire health care industry, make everything dependent on the government and on bureaucracy, and watch as the nation begins to fall apart. Or, we could leave it up to the market, which is most efficient and best for everyone. Which do you choose? The working system or the non-working system?
Socialism is bad for everyone, including the people in charge. Obama won some 53% of the vote, while McCain won some 46% of the vote. To be just and fair, should Obama be allowed to pursue his policies to the detriment of the other 46% of the people? Is this state of affairs good? The answer is clear. Obama and the other proponents of universal health care, as well as universal health care itself, are flawed.
Another argument against socialized health care is that it is not natural. If it is not natural, why would it be good? Didn't we learn in history class that humans have survived for thousands of years without socialized health care?
Some of the socialists believe that universal health insurance is good because it provides for the people. But does it really? What about the homeless man on the corner who isn't in the government's database and consequently is not able to get health care? The socialists' solution is nowhere close to perfect, and should obviously therefore not even be attempted.
An unanswerable argument to the socialists is that they cannot prove that the doctors will perform better under a social health system. What does this mean? The doctors will perform worse, and health care for all will be worse. Is that really what we want for our great nation?
But let's address the root cause of these issues: socialism. Socialism is intrinsically linked to its eventual successor, the great evil of communism. If we start down the path of socialized medicine, it will be forever ingrained into our culture, and we will have no way out of it; we will have taken a permanent step down the road to communism. If you prefer a free democracy to communism, you will prefer not to have socialized medicine.
So, to conclude, what can we conclude about socialized medicine, in light of all of this evidence and hard reasoning? What do you think?

The US is the only industrialized country in the World without universal health care. We also have the highest amount of money spent, and that is not counting the 45 million uninsured.
But I’m sure the Republicans are right about socialized medicine, and the rest of the world is wrong.

Universal healthcare is a failure. If it failed in Hawaii, how will it work on a national level?
John S: Hawaii had a form of universal healthcare and it failed…the state dropped it after 7 months of operation. So how will it work in the United States?

Yay for ranting.
Unfortunately, history AND the world disagree with you.
Nearly every first-world country has socialized medicine but us now.
“An unanswerable argument to the socialists is that they cannot prove that the doctors will perform better under a social health system.”
I don’t think that anyone claims doctors will perform better, simply that they will perform where they weren’t before. Many people cannot afford medical care, working full time jobs.
You are taking arguments that don’t exist.

“What about the homeless man on the corner who isn’t in the government’s database and consequently is not able to get health care? The socialists’ solution is nowhere close to perfect, and should obviously therefore not even be attempted.”
Here, you argue that…if an improvement isn’t 100% fault-free, we shouldn’t even try? By that logic, moderate exercise doesn’t cure obesity for everyone, so no one should attempt to move.

If it’s so bad then please just name ONE country that currently has Universal Health Care that is having a serious debate about dropping it and moving towards an American style system. You can’t.

Of course, a system where people go bankrupt from medical bills is the only way to run a health care system. Why can’t the rest of the world see that?

Rant much? Blah, blah

I completely agree – I’ve thought socialized medicine was a horrible idea from the start, at least in America. It may work ok in other countries, but they started out with that system – they didn’t try to go from a capitalist to socialist structure in one fell swoop.
Socialized medicine is just a huge can of worms – it sounds ok on the surface, but trying to implement it in a capitalist society is a mess that would take years to unravel.
Why not just have people make responsible decisions for their health, stop suing doctors for absurd things (many malpractice suits are completely bogus, I used to handle them), and quit trying to make the government solve everything for them? If we could all just govern ourselves responsibly – which, after all, is the structure our country was founded on – things would work out a whole lot better.
Kinda funny how the democratic party was originally founded on the concept of small government staying out of people’s business, and now they’re the ones trying to make the country dependent upon the same exact government. Huh.

First…I am not going to real all that.
Second, maybe most of the world’s top countries have universal health care, but they also run above 12% unemployment because no one wants to start a business in say, Sweden or Germany, when they will pay the government around $67,000 of every $100,000 they make in profits.
Universal health care is just another way to bankrupt people and keep unemployment high.
I guess those of you who think Europe is SOOO much better than us better realize they are voting conservative now because they cannot handle the tax burdens and high unemployment anymore.
Those are only facts, though. Let the badgering begin.
