What are some good symbols for the various stages of being a physician/medical doctor?

Discount Medical Scrubs

I am designing a website that will have information about home loan programs available to physicians. My client wants icons that represent the each of the following prospective loan applicants...

- Starting Residency
- Ending Residency/Fellowship
- Practicing Physician
- Residency Coordinator
- Hospital/Practice Administrator

The design of the site is very whimsical/surrealistic... I was considering doing umbrellas falling from the sky like parachutes with representive outfits on hangers attached to the umbrellas... Things like a scrub top, a lab coat, a shirt and tie (for Hospital Administrator -- or is that too sexist)... But what else is there? Any ideas?

    for starting residency: use a happy face
    for ending: use an ecstatic face

    for a practicing doc: use something serious, like dick tracy

    res coordinator: a guy with a whip

    hospital admin: the devil ;)
