What do you hate about TV?

I am on a rant here because I just can't handle TV anymore. I have satellite TV with tons of channels and there is just garbage on all the time. I am much happier cleaning my bathroom, I swear. So here are some things I hate. Let me know what you hate:
* the shoeshine kid at the end of Cheaters
* most of the cavemen commercials
* JG Wentworth
* any trade school commercial
* all drug commercials
* all car/truck commercials
* the creepy Wendys (guy with red wig), Burger King (the King, the sandwich family), and "good to go" Taco Bell commercials
* commercials for cereal, soda, candy, or drinks with lots of songs, colors, and splashing cr@p
* all Outback commercials
* American Idol; all reality TV
* Top 50 anything (like on VH1)
* prime time game shows
* the singing chocolate chip cookies
* House, Scrubs, medical shows
* Emeril
* CSI with their ridiculous sets / sexy actors
* The Closer makes me sick
* Shows on multiple times/multiple channels
* Travel Channel shows
I know the list was long but we were talking about it all day at work so they were fresh on my mind. The reason I have satellite is because the only shows I like are Lost, South Park, Dirty Jobs, Malcolm in the Middle, What Not To Wear, Cash Cab, and The Daily Show. I like smart-azz shows. I also like John Stossel on 20/20 and some PBS stuff. The problem is that 5 of my fav shows are not on "free" TV, so I have to keep the satellite. Just to keep the fun going, I also hate: Lean Cuisine commercials b/c every entree has "red peppers" and they say it like it's liquid gold, Nutrisystem/Jenny Craig commercials, Mercury Insurance, Tyra Banks' show, Rachael Ray, all MTV shows. Hey, but I DO like Hillshire Farms commercials (go meat!), the berries and cream guy (skittles), and a Stanley Steamer commercial where a dog rubs his butt on the carpet. The best commercial of all time was for VW Cabriot where they drive at night with the moon/stars and come to a drunk party and just leave. Beautiful.

I hate all of those weight loss commercials where you can eat a house and still look like an anorexic barbie doll!

All commercials, all reality shows, most sitcoms, any movie on lifetime…basically everything except Football and The Daily Show.

Yea I dnt watch tv either unless its a specific show I’ve been waiting too watch or I watch the whole season like Ugly Betty or Grey’s Anatomy and stuff like that. And I find stuff to do during the commercials or just press mute. But about the commercials and stuff you listed yea I’ve been through that b4 it is soo annoying which is why I stopped watching tv and just do what I do now and find out what times my shows come on. I never watch it "just for fun" anymore unless I’m really really bored and even then like you said I’d rather clean the bathroom.

I have seen maybe two out of the 50 million things you listed. I know what you mean though. There is just too much to watch, all the time.

Man why do you have satellite if there are so many things about TV that piss you off ?
I dislike most commercials especially the drug company ones.

With a list that long, it seem what you need most is the red button. There are a lot more rewarding experiences in life than television. "In everything, moderation" It is nice to know you keep a clean house, though.

1. That American Idol Rewind has been the 1st Season over and over and over.
2. Any commercial with Wilford Brimley about diabeties where you "could" get a free meter.
3. Deal of No Deal & Howie Mandel
4.All the creepy, red wigged Wendy’s commercials. I actually
like the KING commercials for Burger King but I don’t like the
sizes there.
5.That strange kid on the Rice Krispies commercial about the
Spaceship & being late for soccer practice & If you ever need
a ride…Strange kid and I just saw him in another commercial this morning.
6. All NEWS/Political/Religious Channels. Did you know that
the Eternal Word Network does not have Closed Captioning.
I guess once you get deaf you can’t get the word of God.
7. That they show that Home Makeover show on TV Land.
8. That all the outtakes shows are the same ones all the time
9. Singing Bee had a special "Girl Power" night but there was
no girl singers in the first round.
10. All Soap Operas.
11. All of the Infomercial instead of All Night programs on the
cable networks.
12. Last be not least, when the local cable company test the
Emergency System by blaring a loud buzzer noise and the
orange screen, during your favorite show or when you are
recording.

With a DVR on every TV I miss most commercials so here is what I hate:
1. Rachael Ray
2. Severe weather alerts every 5 minutes. (Can we at least have a split screen with regular programming on closed caption?)
3. Repeats starting in November
4. Football run-overs on CBS on Sunday nights. I love football; the programming is the problem.

I’m not a fan of television. I’d rather read. I watch the news and I’m into the Rock of Love show but it’s almost over. I like the show What Not to Wear. It has helped improve the way I dress so much. I’m petite and thin. It has hard to find clothes that look good on me that I like without wearing the same kind of clothes all of the time.
