Which tv show most accuratly depicts the life of a medical intern?
Discount Medical Scrubs
Is it more like greys anatomy or scrubs? In scrubs the interns are divided into surgical and medical, but in greys the interns preform both medical and surgical procedures.

Well, if it’s anything like the things we see on Grey’s Anatomy or Scrubs….. I’m scared! LOL
They’ve done stupid things and people died. Burke is operating with a shaky hand and the intern is doing things interns at her level shouldn’t be. Izzy cut off her boyfriend’s stuff to get him a heart… illegal, unethical, and dangerous. And two sleep with their bosses…. and it just goes on and on.
Scrubs…. to crazy to even begin. LOL But I love both shows!

Both are fairly accurate. They pull double duty as soon as the chief of staff feels an intern is ready to assist or perform surgery.
The funny stuff that goes on in scrubs is fairly accurate also. I know. I’m a retired RN.
Some hilarious stuff goes on that the patients aren’t aware of.

well if you eliminate all the chemistry between the docs and interns in Greys Anatomy it is very accurate.

ER is the best show ever and i hate that grey’s anatomy came out of nowhere and stole their thunder. plus all the actors on ER and much better looking anyway…
but back on topic…ER really does a good job depicting real life

When I was in med school was when ER first came on the air and we watched it religiously and then picked apart all their mistakes the next day. I would say it’s still the most accurate. The people on Gray’s Anatomy are too dramatic (and pretty) but it’s true on both that you don’t have much "outside" life and your life becomes your work (especially as an intern). Interns RARELY get to scrub on surgeries – they are too busy running errands, labs, performing H&Ps, etc.
