Are their any doctors out there who can tell me how they knew they wanted to become a doctor?

Lately I've been thinking about becoming a doctor. I've always wanted to help people no mater where i've been in life. Right now im studying music but I might change my major. I want to make sure that television has not made me want to become a doctor with show like scrubs and ER becuase when i watch those show i dont see the drama or the fun the actors are having i see the reward of saving a life or helping someone. Can a doctor out there tell me how they new they wanted to become a doctor and give some adivice to someone who is not sure that they want to work in the medical field

    im a nurse not a dr but in the medical field you have to be aware that it is a very rewarding job but very antisocial hours and hard work both physically and emotionally, go onto a careers site or local gp/hospital and see if u can get any work experiance and get an insight into the job and see if you like the look of it
