Are there any programs or facilities in Appalachia that will pay students to go through nursing school?
Discount Medical Scrubs
I am looking to transfer into nursing school and am hoping not acquire any more loans. I was hoping to work in under privileged areas anyway, and was hoping there were places that need nurses that would be willing to help pay for nursing students willing to work in their area for a certain amount of time after school. If not that if anyone knows of any good nursing scholarships that would be available. I have been having a very hard time finding anything. Thank you so much!

Many hospitals will pay for your schooling (but usually the tuition has to be fairly low) if you sign a contract to work there for a certain number of years. I have a friend who does this. In Missouri we are not really hard-pressed for nurses, so I am sure that you can find a hospital somewhere, especially in an area that needs nurses. I am also not entirely sure how she found out about this, but I would start looking through hospital websites and talk to some of the nursing professors at the schools that you are looking into, they may even have something on their websites.
