Do I have Diabetes?

Discount Medical Scrubs

Lately I have been more and more tired going through the day, even after a full nights sleep. It mostly happens when I drink an excess of Soda or sugary drinks. I also find that Im urinateing a lot, at least once every hour some days. I also find that my head is hurting a lot. I tell you this because Im wondering what are the symptoms of Diabetes? I watched a medical show but I dont know how valid it was (scrubs), were they explained some of the syptoms of Diabetes, and I found that I was suffering form most of them. My grandfather has Diabetes but he dosent have to take insilin, and he is the only person, to my knowlege, that has it in my family. So my questions are;

What are the syptoms of Diabetes?
What are the different levels of Diabetes?
Could weight be a factor?
Should I talk to a doctor?

    How long have you been feeling this way? Maybe stress? I wouldn’t rule out diabetes, though, as frequent urination and excessive thirst are symptoms of diabetes. Soda is a diuretic, and drinking a lot of it could make you need to use the bathroom more. To learn more about diabetes, you can go to the following link:

    Although the others have given you much to go on, I would DEFINITELY recommend that you see your doctor. You could also have a condition called hypoglycemia, which steeply elevates the blood sugar after eating something high in sugar. The problem is that hypoglycemia causes the blood sugar to drop drastically right after it goes so high, causing very low energy, as well as shakiness and sometimes sweating.
    Your doctor is your best source of information–all it takes is a simple blood test. I hope this helps.

    The only way to know for sure would be to go to the Dr. and ask for a fasting blood sugar or a hemoglobin A1C test.
    The symtpoms for diabetes are know as the 3 polys: excessive urination ( polyuria), excessive thirsty ( polydipsia), and excessive hunger (polyphagia).
    I am not sure what you mean about levels there are different types of diabetes. Type 1 and Type 2. Type one is where the pancreas does not make insulin at all anymore. Once called juvenile diabetes. This does occur more in kids. Type 2 is a decrease in the amount of insulin made or secreted (researchers are sure of the answer to that one) Insulin resistance, the body becomes resistant to the insulin being made in the pancreas. Weight becomes a factor when the body can only make so much insulin and when there is more body mass, there is not enough insulin for glucose metabolism.
    Yes, if you feel you have diabetes should see a physician soon. The main problem with diabetes is the complications, people who have untreated diabetes have blood sugars that are so high they go into a coma. Prolonged high blood sugars cause vessel problems. Vessels to the brain, heart and kidneys become clogged and then blood cannot flow through causing disease. People who have uncontrolled diabetes are at a higher risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney disease. Also people with untreated diabetes have more limb amputations as the blood flow to the legs becomes more imparied.
    Good luck to you, I hope this helps you.
