how should i cover up my tattoo?
Discount Medical Scrubs
don't get me wrong, i love my tattoo but i got it before i had decided what i was going to do with my life, i am now training to be a medical assistant, not what i thought i was going to do, and my tattoo is on my forearm therefore very hard to cover up with clothing especially in summer, most scrub tops are not long sleeved anyway, i need a way to cover up my tattoo for interviews and when i start working!
any REAL suggestions are welcome, please no rude comments!
also i heard you can cover them up with make up, anyone know any good, fairly inexpensive products? possibly something you have used to cover your own? also any other suggestions of ways to cover it up would be great!
here is a picture of it: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.editAlbumPhoto&albumID=1469008&imageID=28154091
it is kind of blurry but you get the point!

I don’t know of any inexpensive makeups that work. You’d have to look into Dermablend or stage makeup. Or you could try a compression arm sleeve and just cut it down so it doesn’t take up your whole arm.

Clothes are going to be your best bet. Long sleeve t-shirts can be worn under scrubs. For interviews there’s nothing unacceptable about a jacket or sweater.
Check out the facility before you apply. They may have no problem with you having tattoos. My mother works with a couple of nurses who have multiple and visible tattoos, and no one has a problem with it. They’re good nurses.
Makeup isn’t a good solution long term for the lower arm. It WILL rub off and will be a cross contamination nightmare.

I’m sure that many a person has been in this situation before. The only problem is that you really don’t want to be putting makeup over your tattoo every single day, especially if the makeup is going to be $$$.
Can’t see the pic sorry but an armband maybe? Except that they look unprofessional
I’d have to agree with the compression bandange idea, so it’s easy to just slip on each day.
Good Luck!

My sister is a LPN and she has tattoos on both of her wrist. She’s worked at a private clinic and a hospital and neither cared. I also remember one of the RN’s having a semi-large forearm tattoo last time my mother was in the hospital.
I’m sure some places would have a problem with visible tatts, but it’s not a absolute job killer for the profession you’re seaking.
