It’s much worse, and yes, you are everyone’s b*tch. You know next to nothing, and the senior residents and attendings like to remind you of that on a daily basis. You get to do the stuff that nobody else wants to do, and you get to do it 80 hours a week.
It’s part of the learning process, though. We all did it. It sucked, but we got through it and moved on up the ladder until we actually had the knowledge, skills and experience to practice our chosen specialties.

It’s worse. You can’t take a comedic show seriously…

i’ll let you know next year, but i heard it’s rough.
suddenly everyone is your responsibility. grueling hours, no life.
but you will learn. looking forward.
@ Pangolin: i guess it won’t suck as much for me, with the 80 hour work limit and no call.
…like i said, looking forward

I agree with Pangolin once again. Interns are lower than amoebas on the phylogenetic scale. At least they were in the early 1960s.
Here’s a laugh. My last week as a rotating intern was on pediatric urology. The nurses ignored me. Two days later, my first assignment as a pediatric resident was the same ward. The same nurses now looked to me for orders. Unfortunately I wasn’t any smarter.
