Panic at the White House

By Bill O'Reilly for BillOReilly.com
Thursday, September 3, 2009
In the dark days of the Iraq war when valiant U.S. troops faced down multiple enemies who obeyed no rules of war, President Bush never panicked. Even when his approval rating dropped below 35%, the president slugged it out for better or for worse, depending on your worldview.

The same cannot be said for President Obama, who is now reeling from the pressure of his collapsing health care vision. The latest evidence of this was a posting on the "Organizing for America" website that was set up by Mr. Obama in January and is housed at the Democratic National Committee. The message, since scrubbed from the website, said this in part:

"Stay at home [for Health Care Organizing Day.] Call your Senators that day [September 11] ... as we fight back against our own right-wing domestic terrorists who are subverting the American Democratic process, whipped to a frenzy by their Fox propaganda network ceaselessly re-seizing power for their treacherous leaders."

Again, that posting came from an organization created by President Obama. And even though somebody saw the insanity of the words and removed them, if this isn't panic, than nothing is.

I believe it is safe to say that many liberals are stunned by the president's decline in the polls and his inability to sell a government-run health care system. I mean, it all sounds so compassionate; helping the poor get quality medical care, ensuring that insurance companies do not gouge working Americans. How can you oppose that?

But theory is one thing; actual performance is quite something else. As you know, the president had months to clarify the details of the massive health care program, but could not do it. Also, the Congressional Budget Office keeps embarrassing Mr. Obama by contradicting his optimistic financial prognostications. Americans may not like math, but they can do it. This health care deal is adding up to chaos.

Add to that the fact that hardcore leftists like Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean are almost hysterical in pushing federal health care, and a deep distrust has set in. Seniors in particular are skeptical that they may go to the end of the line when the feds begin calling the medical shots.

And then there is the senseless viciousness on the part of some who support national health care mandates. Calling those who oppose your health care point of view "domestic terrorists" is a slander no spin doctor can deny.

There is no question that the Obama administration has been badly damaged this summer, but it can still regroup if it doesn't panic. Most Americans want a fair health care system and are worried about protecting their families from devastating illness.

But at this point, they may be more worried about a White House that is not only losing the health care debate, but is failing to control the crazies on their side. Not exactly a healthy situation.

They should be! Obama-care is not wanted. Dem approval is way down and many will loose seats in 2010. Obama’s approval is under 50%.

What leadership? Obama is not a "leader." He’s a pathetic liar.

Thank you for offering this fine, well written informative piece of
work. Hard core leftys will shrink back into a dark corner when
they read this. Light on them scares them to death.

You can tell by his actions, 0bama is determined to be a one term president.

To those naysayers, I have that site’s messages saved. I had not seen O’reilly’s piece. I think he understates the panic and slander of this administration toward its citizens.

It’s Bill’s opinion. That’s what he gets paid for. He does point out the obvious; there are extremists in the Democratic Party that are in positions of influence. As much as the media and liberals want to paint conservatives as the “extremists”, this should convince people that there are enough nuts in both parties to be a concern for everyone, regardless of political beliefs.
Panic in the white house? That’s a stretch I’m thinking. Obama has an agenda; he’s working towards those goals. I don’t agree with him, but I think he’s just doing the job he thinks he got elected to do.

  11. d_dock_2000 Says:

O’Reilly is accurate and sincere. More than can be said for the White House and its fan club.

for example: …" the Obama administration announced today that it has REVISED its 10-year cumulative budget deficit projection to around $9.051 trillion, up from its February projection of $7.1 trillion.
Administration officials said Monday that these numbers put their projection in line with the Congressional Budget Office’s JUNE projection."

Obama’s campaign rhetoric claimed not being able to negotiate for the cheaper drug prices was a "profound mistake".
And then he does exactly that:
"…confirmed in an e-mail message on Wednesday that the White House shared the drug lobbyists’ interpretation of the deal: that any health care overhaul would not include allowing direct government negotiation of drug prices …"

In fact, Obama made a deal:
"The drug industry has authorized its lobbyists to spend as much as $150 million on television commercials supporting President Obama’s health care overhaul, .."

And where is that $150 MILLION headed?
"Critics of President Obama’s health-care overhaul are zeroing in on his senior adviser David Axelrod, whose former partners at a Chicago-based firm are the beneficiaries of huge ad buys — now at $24 million and counting — by White House allies in the reform fight."

Yeah. Caught and panicked. In more way that imaginable.

  12. darrin b Says:

    Nope.

And you expect us to believe something that the racist and staunch Republican Bill O’Reilly wrote?

    Get real.

    next…

If there isn’t panic at the WH, there should be. Obama has shown he is not a leader. He is not only out of sink with the bill he is promoting, he is out of sink with the public he is talking to. Disregarding those who object to his health care plans as FOX viewers is an unthinkable reaction to such a large display of public outrage.

His mindset is not in leading America, but in pushing through his own objectives at any price. He should hold his breath that no major violence breaks out because of his suggestions of domestic terrorism by large numbers of senior citizens and small business owners. His people are "getting in people’s faces" again like he instructed the ACORN people to register voters. We all know how that turned out and it turned to violence yesterday costing a man a finger.

O’Reilly understated the whole issue but I agree with him.

Soon as seen Riley’s name tuned out so this is talking to the hand…who really gives a flying flock what some douce bag has to say he is only a talk show host..he is a ant in the scheme of things…his opinions are only one voice

His choice to be a fool…who believes anything he says but the negative ones

There never will be panic in the white house

Not with No drama Obama in charge

Good try though…keep up the failing agenda of nonsense

So much put out there by the republicans and radical cons…only talking to the dining room table crowd now and same old people over and over agenda

Because no one else is listening any more

  15. TomT Says:

Never mind the panic in the White House. They had best be concerned about the panic they’re causing throughout America. That will be their downfall.

  16. zena e Says:

Bill O’Reilley is a Talk Show Host. Not a Peson of Worth or Knowledge. nor a legislator who knows .

I would take his proffering as Zilch.
