Is that too much?

Discount Medical Scrubs

I go to medical school and it starts in 2 weeks. My problem is that I am addicted to TV I love watching TV series so much.So I am trying to reduce the number of the shows I watch. Is watching 9 shows a lot?2 shows are on everysingle night and the rest of the shows are on once in a week.Is that too much TV?How many shows per week do you watch? How many shows should I watch everyday?I watch(scrubs,8 simple rules, according to jim,CSI,what I like about you,the 4400,bones,desperate housewives and laguna beach). That's after I reduced the number of the TV shows I watch and I don't know how am gonna have to give up more shows.I need help!!
I have a PVR card, but I can't record 9 shows!!That's too much I guess. That means I'd be thinking about them and putting reminders and stuff for me to record them. And I guess the 9 shows would be 10 then 11 then 12 (new shows would be added)and it's non-stop!

As long as you are able to get your work done then it is fine. Some people have to give up tv in medical school, which there are DVD box sets out there and Tivo to help people who have to catch their shows. Your real life is the most important thing at the moment. I would not say to stop watching them, but if you are starting to have issues in school becuase of this, limit them to be rewards for getting things done. Get a PVR card for the computer, they are around $60 for a nice one with programs and they will record your shows. Then you can watch them later. With med school you can not be a slave to an addiction other then learning ;) . I hope this helps and good luck.

Well, you could pick out one or two favs and program and tape them, then watch them at night before bed or on your day off.

i had that problem but them again im only in high school.
Now, the shows i can not miss are just ugly betty and bones. if you have tivo or on demand, you can just save them until like break in school or something. or just drop your least favorite shows.

Don’t worry about it. In medical school, you may be too busy to watch a whole bunch of T.V. Also, if you really want to reduce t.v shows, just don’t watch when the new episodes start, after a few weeks you may catch one, have no idea what is going on, then just not care anymore. Good luck in Medical school.

i don’t think that is too much TV per week.
But i don’t know if it is more than you can see as a med student.

It would be helpful ( save you time and worry) to get a Tivo or other DVD recorder. You could set it to always record those programs, and you could watch whichever program, when you have time as opposed to having to watch the show when it came on broadcast TV.

I don’t know anything about this company, but a friend said it was trustworthy, and a great price on Tivos.

    "WeaKnees.

They’ve come up with a stash of refurbished Humax TiVos with built-in DVD burners. This is the only TiVo system out there for which one can still purchase TiVo Lifetime Service, which at $299 is a bargain if you’re going to keep the machine more than two years.

WeaKnees is offering the Humax TiVo for $199 with free shipping. There’s a $150 rebate available so the machine costs you $49. Actually, if you go for this deal, spend a hundred bucks more and get the version in which WeaKnees installs a larger harddisk, thereby boosting your recording capacity from 40 hours to 350."

you need a hobby besides the tv shows. this is an aweful lot of television you are watching and you are attending med school good luck on the exams! maybe the cheesy hospital based shows will give you that upper edge. LOL seriously though 9 shows is alot to keep up with alone besides your studies. think about cutting back to one show a night (7 shows)

It isn’t about the number of shows you watch. It’s about how long per day you watch TV.
My rule is 2 hours each day and no more. So that means I can watch 2 hour long shows each day or I can watch 4 half hour long shows. But I don’t count commercials in my time because I get up and walk around and do stuff during commercials. So if I count up the amount of time commercials take, I still have time for one more half hour show! And even then I still get up and walk around during commercials. :]

First of all, congrats on medical school.

Nine shows is a lot. In medical school, you are going to have a lot of homework, so, I doubt that you will have time for all of that TV watching. I know that it would be hard to quit watching desperate housewives and only watch that every once in a while. Max out the number of shows that you can record, and watch the rest. You could cut out scrubs, as they have DVDs out.

Just remember to put your homework over the TV watching… if you don’t, you will regret it as soon as you get your of medical school. try to cut out certain shows over the course of the year.

    Good luck.
