Hi, it is nice to hear that you have considered to be a nurse as your career. I don’t really know which country you are from so I can’t answer how much the school fees would cost. I graduated with a diploma in nursing at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore.
But do refer to this website. http://www.np.edu.sg/hs/courses/hsn/Pages/default.aspx
I hope it helps better understand the type of modules you might undertake whilst studying nursing. So you can better prepare yourself of what you are going to be in for, academically.
I would say nursing is definitely challenging and highly demanding, physically and emotionally. So if you think you are game for it and have the passion to touch the lives of others. Then go for it. Why I say it is emotionally demanding is because sometimes you will meet situations where doctors can be unreasonable or meet patients who come from sad backgrounds (e.g. family abandoned, financial crisis)
When you are in nursing school, you will learn basic skills to help you take care of your patients. For instance, learn the indications for medications, diseases, setting up IV drips, learning how to give injections, perform simple dressings. Be prepared for blood and of course difficult patients and relatives. You will see deaths and patients collapsing in your nursing career.
No course is easy. If it is easy, then everyone can do it. The thing is that nursing is a professional and a skill which not every Tom, Dick or Harry can do. I believe, if you really want to go into nursing… you will do just fine because of the interest you have.
Good luck.
P.s: You can click over the modules and it will give you a brief description about what the subject is about.

Go to google, and type in I hate nursing. Click on the first listing….something like jobinfo.com/// or answers.com
Read those please. I read them 1 night and most of its true.

Cost is of course, depends on where you get accepted to. I would recommend a state university. Courses can be tough. There is lots of memorization IE anatomy & Physiology, Chemisty, etc. Also be prepared for clinical rotations through various types of nursing, IE Ob/gyn, Neuro, Med Surg, Mental Health. I have been a nurse for over 30 years and I still keep learning new things everyday. Technology keeps moving ahead. There are many new tests and scans done on patients. The idea is to never stop learning. I would try and ‘shadow’ a nurse in your local hospital and see what nursing is really all about. You also have to be able to ‘think on your feet’, and remain both passionate about the profession and compassionate to your patients and their families.
