Nursing school changed the prerequisites before I applied?
Discount Medical Scrubs
I have been going to school for nursing for 3 semesters and was going to apply to the school this next semester. Right before I was going to apply they changed their prerequisites and now require different yet similar courses. This would require me to go to school for another year before I can apply again, same with anyone else who was planning on applying with me. What am I missing, that doesn't make sense, is there a way around that if I talk to the advisers? Any advice?

Unfortunately for you the school can change their requirements whenever they choose to, and don’t have to make any allowances for any students not already enrolled in their program.
What you can to is speak to your adviser and see if they will talk to the admissions department of the nursing school on your behalf. If the courses that they require are fairly specific to their industry they are likely to be understanding of the fact that there are some students who were nearing completion of the previous requirements and had not yet applied. They may be willing to waive the new requirements and accept the classes that you have already taken as long as the same basic information was covered. You might want to offer to take any new courses covering information that your classes have not covered in addition to your courses with their program (I know this increases the load on you, but it may be a sticking point, and it beats the alternative of starting over practically from scratch)
