Removing Betadine…?

I had another knee surgery last Thursday morning. When I removed the bandages, I found that the medical folks had covered my leg with betadine. While this in and of itself wasn't a big surprise, the amount of betadine was a surprise. They covered my leg with this stuff from my hip to the ends of my toes. Of course by the time I had removed the bandages 48 hours later it had dried. Although I have been scrubbing with soap and water, my leg is still a funny yellowish orange color. Does anyone know of any easy way to remove betadine?

don’t be surprised, they haev to use this excessive amount to feel secure against the risk of iatrogenic infections. the last thing you want to have is an infected orthopedic surgery or joint. Anyway, you are doing the best, try rubbing some hand cleansing alcohol available as alcohol wipes or in bottles over the counter. Otherwise, it is a matter of a few days only, good luck

Unfortunately there is not an easy way. Keep scrubbing (but not hard enough to damage the skin) and it will eventually wear off. I know it’s unsightly but it is only temporary.
