Should I learn to drive before starting nursing school?
Discount Medical Scrubs
I'm planning to attend any community college in the Bay Area in CA for nursing. Ideally I'd like to get into CCSF or Merritt College. I'm 19 now and I'm still scared to learn to drive. I've heard that the transportation systems in the bay area are great so I'm wondering if it would be fine if I lived there car-free. Things to consider are going from the school to the hospital I'd have clinicals in and how fast I can go from place to place on a schedule.

I think being able to drive and having a car will help you tremendously if you can afford parking. You should learn to face your fears!

How can someone not know how to drive by 19yo?? Learning to drive is not scary, it’s one of the more precious moment in one’s life. You will need the skill for the rest of your life, since you gotta do it one day or another, why not now when you have time?
Go take some driving lessons, even if you can’t afford a car or parking.
