You attend a college or university that offers a nursing program.
To become a registered nurse:
Successfully complete the nursing program.
Pass the NCLEX-RN exam.

Actually, instead of RN, go for a BSN. Go to a college or university which has a School of Nursing. It is a 4-year degree, includes practicum and rotations through a hospital affiliated with the School of Nursing. Better degree, better jobs, and better pay than RN. If you still want RN, check with hospitals near you to see which nursing school they recruit from. 3 – 3-1/2 year program.

All legitimate nursing programs are through colleges and universities. Beware of ‘nursing programs’ that are from little rinky-dink locations calling themselves colleges. Be 100% sure that where you attend is accredited not only as a college, but their nursing school is accredited too.
