Totally about internship, residency, fellowship?
Discount Medical Scrubs
I'm gonna write down whatever i know about the things mentioned above.. if i make a mistake please correct it!
Here i go!
1)Internship is the year (1 year) after graduating medical school, when you scrub in different kind of surgeries and you do not specialize in your field. and there is a resident who supervises you and you work in a team.
2) during RESIDENCY you are the boss of the team, you are a resident and you teach your interns and still you are not specialized. And it takes 3-4 years according to your specialization. and by the way you start scrubbing in surgeries that concern your field.
3)Fellowship is the state of being an independent surgeon.. everything is over and you are working without being supervised in your own field..and it is the last stage!
Were these correct?

Obviously, you are talking about how each of these terms is used in the context of medical training, because they may mean very different things in other areas. And I think a lot of this has to do with which country you are in. You seem to have a few misconceptions here:
"Internship" is the term formerly used for a student doing what is now usually called a general residency. You are correct that this is the first year after medical school, and the student goes through different rotations throughout the hospital.
The next step is then a specialized residency. You are NOT the "boss" of a team; in fact, unless there is an intern around to supervise, you are usually the low man (or woman) on the totem pole, because while you are a full-fledged physician, you are not yet an expert in your specialization, which is most of what you are doing during your residency. You are working for a fully-qualified specialist. Surgery may or may not be a part of this. If your residency is in psychiatry, for example, you won’t be doing any more surgery at all at this stage. Only surgical residents (those who are specializing in surgery) are doing a lot of surgeries.
Fellowship is a further narrowing of the specialty. For example, you may have completed a residency in surgery, and then go on to do a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery. You are still supervised, because you are still learning, but you are qualified to do more things on your own. It is only AFTER completing the fellowship, if you choose to do one, that you would be independent.
