What Do You Do All Day?
Discount Medical Scrubs
why do people ask stay at home moms, "So, what do you do all day?" This question is annoying. It's like stay at home moms are lazy, sits on their bum, eats bon bons and watches tv, and don't do anything! Even the working moms who have stayed home before have the audacity to ask us this question??!!
Who cooks 3 meals a day (plus snacks) from scratch so we don't have to go out to eat? Who feeds, babysits, bathes, educates, potty trains, the kids? Who cleans the house, does the laundry, mops the floor, vacuums, scrubs toilet, wash dishes, grocery shops, scrubs bathtubs, cleans bathrooms, makes the bed, picks up your toys, organizes, dusts, etc?
Who is a maid, a cook, a chauffeur, babysitter, counselor, a coach, and a lover?
Who gets up in the middle of the night to change diapers and takes care of sick people?
Do you want this job now? This is not a 9-5 job. This is a 24 hour job, 7 days a week, no pay, no sick leave. no medical/insurance/dental benefits.
I am always exhausted. And I used to be a very attractive woman (so people say). Now no time to look pretty and wear makeup and wear skimpy clothing. I wear sweats, have my hair back in ponytail, wear no makeup. Who am I gonna impress when I'm around kids all day?
I would also have loved my mom to stay home but my dad wasn't making enough money to support us. So my lived in grandmother raised me and my siblings .

I agree! I am a new stay at home mommy and I do find lots of things to do. My house is spotless, the laundry is done, dinner is wonderfully cooked and made, my child is completely happy and has lots of fun activities to do throughout the day (never watches TV), my husband has homemade cookies in his lunch, and I look beautiful for him when he comes home and I am not so damn tired and crabby from work so that we can have some nice time together when he gets home from a hard days work
It’s not for everyone, but I definitely do not sit on my butt all day. I mean, during afternoon nap time I take a little time out for myself, but its definitely a 24 hour job. I mean sometimes I am sleeping, etc… but I always have that ear out for my baby. Never a moments rest

You go, girl!
And yes, I would LOVE your job. Much rather spend all day with people I love than here at work..blech.
BTW I’ve been guilty of asking my older sister who is a stay-at-home mom with 2 kids what she does all day. She’s always talking about how she has no time and I’m like "time?? You don’t have to be anywhere" LOL, but I tease her. I wish and hope I will be able to do the same when I have kids. It’s a privilege to be able to raise your own children. So go on and be proud!

u go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you said it and the list u just gave me makes me think, dam I really AM lazy and i AM a sahm.! lol. it isn’t 9-5, in fact I gave up my aspirations of being the next Daneille Steele or Sandra Brown, to be a mom. I fugured that I would write when they went to bed/ school, but by the time I did so, I was too freakin tired to think much less write. i gave up. I sent out query letters, got rejected, now i just raise my kids and wish i coulda done things differently. Like told myself to write instead of putting it off. I had drive and passion for writing back then, now after getting rejected by some of the best names in the business, ( think Lilly Liu,) I gave up. Yes, I quit. Sad, but true.

your kids must b very happy that they hav a mom that takes care of them. I totally agree wit u on the question. That’s what people would ask my mom all the time, until she got a job so know i miss her being at home.
