My father has become a danger to himself and possibly to others. However, he is a brilliant sociopath and he is able to convince the police every time that he is ok. He has also been able to convince hospital staff that he was fine - even tho he wasnt.
I want to have him commited, but he refuses to go.

some patients take hospital care, and those who administer it ,for granted but surely the patients have some responsibilities to hospital staff.

I went to visit a friend in the hospital this past weekend and when I got there the hospital staff had metal detectors put up and were inspecting everyone's belongings.
When I got in I heard that there was a prisoner being treated at the hospital and that an entire wing of the hospital was closed off where he was being kept; only police and medical staff were allowed in.
Is this standard for when prisoners are in the hospital?
