Discount Medical Scrubs
I mean like for instance we could take guys in the so-called street world that would be very well dressed and what not, those guys definitely I wouldn't call gay, for wearing nice suits and what not, and having clean shaves and talking like men. In general I always respected men that dressed well that worked hard to provide for their families, and didn't link that to being gay. My uncle worked construction for a long time, then became an executive, he said for some time most people were dressing up a lot, but now he wears what the client wears (i.e. more casual). I know at least in the medical field, when I first started shadowing, the surgeon is an ex-army general, he almost beat the hell out of me when I came in not dressed well to shadow for clinic. I can see why it is important to make the patient comfortable by dressing in the right apparel. I'm glad though that my career is mostly in scrubs provided by the hospital. If I were to re-direct the stereotype, it would be guys that use a ton of products that most people don't even know exist as apposed to the clothing.

I have always wanted to be a surgeon, there is something about the o.r. that makes me feel like im home and relaxed when i have scrubbed in to observe. I'm 22 and had to quit school to take care of my mom who has severe cancer. My gpa has gone down to a 2.6 because i thought i could handle anatomy along with other classes durring my mom's surgieres and diagnosis the last year. My mom's nurses have tried to convince me to become a nurse and specialize in the o.r. and be a trauma nurse. That sounds really interesting but I have a feeling ill always be disapointed that i didnt become a doctor/surgeon.
Should I be a Doctor, nurse or just forget about the medical field.........is my gpa to bad to make this possible or can i somehow overcome my 2.6 gpa and how do i fix it........
please help

At them moment I am working PRN for a facial cosmetic Dr I would love to make a full transition into the scrub tech world but am finding it hard being I do not have that 1 year experience. I have since been faxing/calling various surgical places of hopes of landing a FT scrub job. I have also joined staffing agency but it is the same thing- being I do not have enough experience it is hard for them to place me. I am very open minded and would not mind working outside of Phoenix (Tucson, Kingman, Prescott..) If you know of any place that would consider taking me on, please do reply back!!
Please no spam responses, if it has nothing to do with the medical field I am not interested.
Thanks for taking the time and reading my entry.
I have applied to al hospitals/surgery ctr/clinics centers regarding a scrub tech position- even for sterile tech jobs. But it always come down to not even experience. I have with 3 staffing temp agency.

I have a meeting with my local d.a. to discuss a fake personal ad I paced using an enemies info.I was arrested and charged with I.d. theft. I am hoping to get the charges dropped or at least reduced.I was just wondering if I should wear my scrubs, showing Im in the medical field(which means I do care for others-)I just made a bad choice at an emotional time and now I regret it.A felony on my record will surly hurt my chances of a better job,it may even cause me to lose the one I have.Just wondering if it may help??

I want to become a Cardiothoracic Surgeon one day,
and my mom hasn't been so supportive. My parents
they are both in the medical field; My Mom an RN Nurse,
and Dad as a Scrub Nurse (a specially trained nurse who works with surgeons and the medical team in the operating room.) So my parents know pretty much about
what Surgeons do... My mom keeps saying just be a nurse like her
but i honestly don't want to. She's always saying about how much money
it would cost and how many years it would take and just discouraging me
even though she says she's not. I know how much money it will take, we
have enough for Undergraduate Work but not a lot for Med School that's why
i might be getting a loan. I told her about getting a loan and started this whole
argument of how many years it would take to pay it off even with a huge salary
because of the tax deduction... I mean i honestly don't care if i'm in a million dollars
dept as long as i can do something to make a change into a persons life...
I don't care how long it takes to go to school, and i honestly couldn't care
how much money i would be making. But the pay would be nice, for all those
100+ Hours a Week... So what do i do? I feel like giving in and happen to become
a nurse and regret it for the rest of my life...

Try to make this short:
-Im an LPN student basically in the first quarter. I have a 3.8 GPA
-Im 24 and my previous work history since I was 18 has been in the Industrial field (factory work). Very good at whatever I do.
I currently work at a world known hospital as a Transporter (transport patients within the hospital Example: Take patient from their room to CT or where ever by stretcher, wheelchair or by their bed.
I Do not have class again until April. In the meantime I have just started working Extra Duty as a Patient Care Technician AFTER I get off my regular job.
((I work 1:30pm - 10pm then change into scrubs and head down to my floor))
Here is what i am getting at: I know Im ultimately trying to become an RN and maybe a Doctor. BUT... Inside-I feel as though I am wasting my time going for LPN and that there is something on a greater scale that I can make the most difference in and that is more me. It is in the medical field but im not sure what it is yet..... anyone offer any advice or whatever.

right now i am going to college do some thing in the medical field. most likely physical therapy assistant and am looking into other things in the medical field . I like helping people and i am very patience and understanding . also a good listener .
I got do do some job shadowing working with kids and it was hard work but worth it . I was working with kids with disabilities such as autism and cerebral palsy.
even though I have a job but it going to go no wear and I am board all the time. yea i had other jobs like construction, auto body work , and warehouse work but noting work out and i got laid off a lot and want some thing that i can do for years to come and not worry about being out off work cuz i like to work.
I know guys are supposed to be macho and every thing but I am convertible in my own skin and confident. I do not let it get to me and it is what it is.
people can think less of me all they want lol.
one last thing what do girls think about guys in scrubs? does it still count as a man in uniform?
