Osteopathy is an approach to healthcare that emphasizes the role of the musculoskeletal system in health and disease. In most countries osteopathy is a form of complementary medicine, emphasizing a holistic approach and the skilled use of a range of manual and physical treatment interventions (osteopathic manipulative medicine, or OMM in the United States) in the prevention and treatment of disease. In practice, this most commonly relates to musculoskeletal problems such as back and neck pain.
i'v finaly figured what i want to do with my life i want to become a doctor and at the same time i want to help people around the world are there any programs that allow that or at least give some training for a 15 year old kid where i can least experience what its like
how many hours does an ER doc work a week? How much does a doc typically make in boston mass? how many years of what school must i attend? how much does med school cost? is it hard to find a job once you get your degree? what is the typical starting salary and how much does it increase a year?
please just tell me what you you know and tell me if it is worth it
thanks
I already passed my physical to get into the Army. However, I hear you also have to do a physical before you leave to go to basic training, and another when you arrive. I'm worried because I had some warts removed from my butt a few weeks ago and don't want the doctors to see the scars.
So what do they check for when you go in? Do they check up your butt again? If they find out and I explain the reason for the wound are they likely to give me a hard time?
I have just lost, my job age 28. I was a business analyst. A respected job that pays about 35k a year. I am thinking of doing something more meaningful and less likely to loose in the future and was thinking of retraining as a doctor (in the UK). Only problem is that I would need to do a 6 year degree there seems to be alot of "stop points" that might mean i fail e.g. I need to pass an entry to medicine qualification but i need to pass at top levels, I need to apply for uni but there are lots of other people with better qualifications than me, if i get in to uni I need to take a logic test. If i pass the logic test i need to pass the degree itself after that its fine because im earning and the rest of the training is simple but the issue is that at each of these stop points I risk having committed lots of money and still no being able to get in / finish. What would you do? go for it or find another job (although the current labour market is poor so no guarantees there)
I'm a 4th year female med student. I was working for 2 weeks in the same hospital as this male intern (1st year doctor-in-training) who was very nice & kind... sort of quiet. We talked 3 or 4 times (in the morning before starting work). Then he was placed back to the main training hospital.
Three months later I started a med student rotation in the same hospital and bumped into him on the way out after work. I didn't see him when he just came up from behind and said "Hey, how's it going?" We talked while walking to the parking lot, He remembered everything about me I had mentioned 3 months prior! We reached the lot and went our separate ways. He seemed glad to have had bumped into me, though we didn't really know eachother.
Recently (another 2months later) I saw him at my local Church. Is this a coincidence or what? I live in a large major city and I've never seen him there before.
First qualify as doctor
preregistration year
then decide medical/surgical aspect of A&E
MRCP or FRCS
Specialist A&E training
From the asking of the Q it is suggestive that you are not yet a medical student.Qualify first. You will be exposed to different specialities during your training.People often change their minds.
After a doctor leave medical school, is he able to diagnose most disease right off the bat? Would he be able to prescribe medications for diseases correctly?
I worry because I hear a lot about malpractice charges and sure this can happen because of careless doctors. But what about those who still do not quite have the knowledge to deal with certain problems?
Just how smart is a doctor when emerging from medical school.
If a doctor does not know what to do, what options does he have? If he is stumped with a certain patient in a clinic for example, what are his options and are there any bad side effects on his career?
Moving from the US to Dammam area next month , with my wife, for a very good job. My job offer is perfect alhamdulillah.. However.. we are looking for opportunities for my wife who is an eye doctor (MBBS).
Does anyone know of any facilities that allow expats to do FRCOphth / FCPS Part II training? What are the prospects of finding a job as an MBBS / FCPS Part I doctor? We are from Pakistan.
I know there is a specialist eye hospital near Dammam.. I am just not sure about the possibilities of finding some work there for a Female doctor-in-training. I also know about the Saad Specialist hospital in Al-Khobar but am not sure if they hire simple MBBS? KKESH in Riyadh offers fellowships but only for GCC citizens :/
We don't know the basics of specialization opportunities for Non-GCC expats and any info will be MUCH appreciated!
Thanks
